Street-level Mapping and Road Network added to TruckStops ®

ARLINGTON, VA - October 30, 1998 MicroAnalytics, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of TruckStops® for Windows® Routing & Scheduling System, version 2.0. This latest version features a link to ALK Associates’ new PC*MILER/STREETS®, the most powerful commercial street-level mileage and mapping software available. Now distribution operations using the new TruckStops with PC*MILER/STREETS can enjoy the accuracy of street-level routing and mapping without the arduous set-up and data management required by other routing and scheduling systems.

With the new TruckStops, a company can meet key service requirements such as customer time windows, truck capacities, backhauls, DOT regulations, etc. when generating their least cost/best service routes using the route mileage and times from PC*MILER's street-level and highway road network. After the routes are complete, a user can view TruckStops' routes along the actual roads in a PC*MILER map window and read detailed driver instructions all from within TruckStops. TruckStops users have immediate access to PC*MILER and its road-based mileage and travel times via a dynamic-link library(DLL) that allows PC*MILER to operate as an integral part of TruckStops. PC*MILER/STREETS includes all of the North American point-to-point highway routing and mileage functionality found in PC*MILER, plus detailed U.S. street-level maps, directions to 96 million U.S. addresses, truck restrictions, one way designations and more.

Available for Windows® 95/98/NT, TruckStops can be used either dynamically, for scheduling vehicles on routes that change daily, or strategically, for planning and updating fixed delivery routes.
