MicroAnalytics, Inc. Announces their New Distributor in Mexico
Arlington, VA – August, 2005 – Logistics software provider MicroAnalytics, Inc. welcomes FlotillaSoft as their new distributor of TruckStops Routing & Scheduling Software and OptiSite Distribution Planning Model in Mexico. Both systems are used by logistics operators to reduce the cost of distribution through optimization. David Bruton, the principal of FlotillaSoft has lived in Mexico for the last seven years holds dual Mexican/U.S. citizenship.
Bruton, together with the staff of MicroAnalytics, developed a version of TruckStops adapted to the conditions found in Mexico. Along with having the same features that are available to companies in the U.S. and Europe, Mexican users have a tropicalized geocoder to convert addresses into coordinates, something that all vehicle routing systems must be able to do. This is especially useful with Mexico’s unique address numbering system. A Spanish language interface to TruckStops is also offered.
“With dramatically rising fuel costs, increasing routing efficiency is essential in staying competitive. With the rapid increase in professionalism of the transportation logistics field in Mexico, we believe that Mexican fleet operators that use our products will realize the same benefits that our American and European customers have been achieving for years. In addition to saving 10-25% of their distribution costs, users will benefit from increased control over the routing process. TruckStops not only reduces the time necessary to prepare daily routes but also gives managers a much needed yardstick for measuring the performance of drivers,” stated Bruton.
Mike Hooban, President of MicroAnalytics, noted, “Mexico is a huge market, growing rapidly in sophistication. A product like TruckStops can be a significant factor in giving a competitive edge to smart, forward-looking companies.”
David Bruton has an extensive background in consulting and database management systems. He recently worked as an IT consultant and applications developer with the Transportation Research Board of the National Academy of Sciences. He has been working very closely with the ODBC functionality in TruckStops. His expertise will benefit companies who are interested in using the routing software with their current database systems.
MicroAnalytics has produced high-quality, affordable logistics software since 1984. The company helped pioneer the development of PC-based routing systems and is recognized as the leading software provider with over 2,400 systems distributed worldwide. In addition to the TruckStops system, MicroAnalytics publishes and markets the OptiSite® Distribution Planning Model and the BUSTOPS® Student Transportation Management System.
